MPP Bailey Host Major Issues Telephone Town Hall

Queen’s Park – The sagging economy, the rising cost of hydro, industrial wind turbines, and the College of Trades were the hot topics during Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey’s riding wide telephone town hall on Monday night.

More than 7600 constituents joined in and participated during the hour long call which included call-in guests Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP, Monte McNaughton, and Huron-Bruce MPP, Lisa Thompson. During the town hall MPP Bailey took questions from many residents who expressed concern with the direction the province was headed.

“As a province we are about to begin a very important discussion on the 2014 budget; it was important to host this town hall in order to reach out to as many residents in Sarnia-Lambton as possible, and to get there opinion on the major issues in the province,” said MPP Bailey.

“I asked the participants in the town hall to vote on a number of issues including expanding the use of industrial wind turbines in Sarnia-Lambton and supporting the upcoming Liberal budget,” noted MPP Bailey. “More than 90% of participants voted against those ideas.”

Anyone who didn’t receive a call but would like to participate in a future town hall should email their contact information to MPP Bailey’s office at: bob.bailey@pc.ola.org.
