MPP Bob Bailey designated Parliamentary Assistant in new Ford Government

(QUEEN’S PARK) –Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey was designated today as Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Government and Consumer Services at the swearing-in ceremony of Doug Ford and the Ontario PC government on the front steps of the provincial legislature in Toronto.

“It is an incredible honour to be asked to serve in this role for Premier Ford and the Ontario Government,” said MPP Bailey.  “I look forward to working directly with the new Minister of Government and Consumer Services, Todd Smith, to help restore accountability, responsibility and trust in our provincial government.”

The Ministry of Government and Consumer Services delivers important services for citizens, business and the Ontario Public Service.  Chief among the responsibilities of the MGCS is the oversight and management of services at Service Ontario and Consumer Protection Ontario.

Parliamentary Assistants support ministers with legislative and committee matters, including special projects and assignments that require dedicated leadership. They also play a key role in building relationships and communicating government initiatives across the province.

In all, Premier Ford named 21 new cabinet ministers and 26 parliamentary assistants from the 76 member caucus.
