NDP PROP UP WYNNE-LIBERAL GOVERNMENT VOTE IN FAVOUR OF LIBERAL SCANDALS & WASTE

QUEEN’S PARK— On Wednesday the NDP and Liberal members of the Ontario Legislative Assembly voted to deny the Official Opposition PCs their legislative right to call for a government vote of confidence at Queen’s Park. Despite the widespread condemnation of the scandal plagued Liberal Government and the release of another provincial budget that adds billions to the provincial debt, NDP members came to the rescue of Premier Wynne and her troubled government.

“Today, the NDP propped up the corrupt McGuinty-Wynne Liberals and voted in favour of incompetence, scandals and wasted taxpayers’ dollars,” said Sarnia- Lambton MPP Bob Bailey.

“The NDP had a chance to do the right thing for Sarnia-Lambton by pulling the plug on the McGuinty-Wynne Government,” said MPP Bailey after the debate. “But when the spotlight was brightest they refused to stand up for Sarnia- Lambton and struggling communities like ours across Ontario. Instead, they joined with the Liberals to protect a legacy that includes the closing of Lambton Generating Station and the Sarnia Jail, crippling the horse breeding industry, and tearing apart communities in rural Ontario with the installation of industrial wind turbines without local consent.”

“Today, a Liberal-NDP coalition rules Ontario. The NDP made their bed and now they must lie in it. Andrea Horwath and the NDP voted today to prop up a government that wasted $600 million to cancel the Mississauga and Oakville gas plants and then lied to Ontarians about it. Ontarians deserve a voice and they deserved a vote on whether or not they support the Liberal government.”

“Today, the NDP voted in favour of the Liberal decisions to close down the Sarnia Jail, Lambton Generating Station and to tear apart horse racing in Ontario,” said MPP Bailey.
