NOVA Chemicals Invests $2B In New Polyethylene Plant In Sarnia-Lambton

Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey made the following statement on the  $2 billion investment by NOVA Chemicals, in a new world scale polyethylene plant in Sarnia-Lambton.  The Province of Ontario is contributing $100 million in grant money from the provincial Jobs and Prosperity Fund.

“NOVA’s announcement today is great news for our region and the people of Sarnia-Lambton.  I’m extremely pleased that the Province of Ontario has partnered with NOVA to ensure that this world scale polyethylene plant gets built right here in Lambton County.

Sarnia-Lambton has a long history of excellence in the chemistry industry. From our skilled trades to our engineers, from our industrial fabrication shops to our process operators, it’s what we do, and in my opinion we’re the best in the world at it.  I think NOVA’s leadership recognized that.  As a former 30 year employee of NOVA Chemicals, I couldn’t be happier for the current and future employees of the company and all the people in our community who work to support our local industry”.
